Constantly thinking about your appliances after leaving home? You're not alone!
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
If you find yourself in a panic every time you leave the house over your appliances being left on, don't worry - Jane knows the feeling...
Appliance paranoia is a thing. Yes, it's a thing and I think that I have it.
Do you ever get in your car and get halfway to work and think to yourself, 'oh dear, have I left the stove on?'. The feeling is so overwhelming that you turn your car around, go home only to find out that it had been switched off the whole time. This has to be the most annoying thing ever, right?!

It happened to me the other day. As I got onto the highway on the way to work, I had this crashing 'oh no' moment as I played mind games with myself as to if I had left the stove on after making a pre-workout omelette.
I so knew I had turned it off. I was certain of it, as I pictured the switch in the 'off' position on the wall. On the other hand, thoughts of my home ablaze with smoke gushing out the roof and windows filled my head and panic started to set in. Dammit! I turned around, drove back to the house, and yes, it was switched off as I had assumed but needed to see it for myself. Frustrated much? Yes!
Ever thought you left the stove on once you left home, only to find that it was off? Please tell me I'm not alone here. Please!
