'Bachelor' star mom-shamed for dyeing young daughter's hair

A US actress and mom is facing the heat from critics for her choice to allow her six-year-old daughter to have highlights in her hair.
Twenty-eight-year-old US actress Amanda Stanton, who appeared on the popular TV show The Bachelor, is in hot water with her fans for allowing her daughter to highlight her hair. This comes after she posted a picture with her six-year-old on her Instagram captioned: "babe’s first highlights."
Stanton went on to post another picture of her beautiful daughter, Kinsley, along with a caption taken from Ariana Grande's new song, '7 Rings'. "you like my hair? Gee thanks, just bought it 💁🏼♀️," she said.
While many of you may be thinking "what's the big deal", a few of her fans took the time to comment on Amanda's choice to allow her daughter to have highlights, saying that she's too young and she should let her daughter decide to do it when she's older.
"I have an 8 year old and a 14 year old and they’ve asked me for highlights. No way! They are too young! You give them highlights and then they want acrylics and crap after that. I won’t ever tell someone how to parent ever but in my opinion it’s too young. And she’s just so adorable. All three girls are so cute," Instagram user @sarahmfeldhaus said.
Some comments included detesting her decision, but also praising her for parenting the way she sees fit. After all, she is the mom and is responsible for her child.
"You seriously highlighted your kid’s hair? I don’t understand why anyone would do that to a little girl. BUT...she’s yours and it is your decision. Not everyone will agree with your choices in life," said Instagram user @patricia.maryniak.
On Air With Ryan Seacrest reported that the star clapped back at the haters by saying: "Not everyone is going to agree with you and everything you do... and that's okay."

After seeing the article and the picture, Jane decided to share her views on it.

"It’s an interesting one, each to their own. Is the backlash because it’s putting peroxide on the child’s hair or because of the look?" Jane said.
She added that if her daughter asked her to have her hair highlighted, she wouldn't be overly thrilled by it.
"If my daughter, who is six-years-old asks to have her hair highlighted, I’m not sure I’d be keen and rather push the hair chalk route. Highlights take time and upkeep, so maybe it’s a bit premature?" she concluded.
