Many South Africans have shared some of their nightly routines when attempting to get some 'beauty sleep'.

Some tips and tricks shared have been watching YouTube videos, listening to calming music, playing guitar or looking out the window at the city. Although, these options can lead to making you feel awake for an extended period of time.

One user said, "I use a meditation technique whereby I self-hypnotise. I start by calming my mind and focusing my attention from my head all the way to my toes. I then trick my body into reaching a state of deep relaxation and I fall asleep."
