What says 'rich' without saying 'rich'?

What says 'rich' without saying 'rich'?

When the things that distinguish your wealth aren't exactly the things you group into the 'wealth' category.

Certain things in life distinguish the rich from the not-so-rich.

Perhaps some might identify a rich person as a person with a house, a fancy phone, or by the way they dress and carry themselves.

But the truth is most people's versions of what is distinguishable as rich and what is not are quite subjective. It can be said that the ideology surrounding what it means to be rich and what it means to be wealthy is quite different.

Stacey and J Sbu will be chatting about this topic today, but just a prelude to the question, 'What says 'rich' without saying 'rich'?', we found some interesting banter about it on social media.

As you might know, certain things have escalated in price and value over the last couple of years. Things like petrol (liquid gold) and eggs have become a hot commodity.

Basic grocery items have become something of an expensive commodity, one that could easily be identified as 'rich'. Wouldn't you say so?

Check out some of the comments from a post we found on Reddit:

  • "I have 2, count 'em 2 dozen eggs in my fridge as I type..."
  • "You have a fridge???"
  • "I raise your 2 dozen with my 5 dozen and a dozen duck eggs....."
  • "I pay the electricity bill on time"
