The boy in question not only hosted a house party but he did so after he had tested positive for COVID-19 about a week ago. In the video, the police ask how many people are in the house and he says 20. The young man then confirms that he has indeed tested positive for the virus.

It seems the boy only walked away with a slap on the wrist and an official warning. Social media was in a tailspin, calling for a harsher punishment to deter him and his peers from ever doing the same thing again. According the Sky News, police forces have the power to fine people £10,000 for organizing illegal gatherings of more than 30 people, with stricter rules banning groups of more than six people set to be introduced next month.
