A 25-year-old father has been arrested at a San Diego Zoo, this is after he entered an elephant habitat to take a photograph with the animals.

The unnamed father was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment after he entered the elephant habitat carrying his two-year-old daughter.

Not only were his actions illegal, but they were also grossly irresponsible and dangerous. In the video, the father is seen posing inside the habitat that has wire fencing with his daughter. In a matter of seconds, an elephant is spotted charging the two. As the San Diego man tries to flee the enclosure, the man drops his toddler on the ground.

He tries to quickly pick her up, to get her out safely.

Police officers on the scene shared that the 25-year-old man had wanted to take pictures with the African bull elephant. The father is being held in jail on $100,000 bail as the investigation of child endangerment takes place. His case will be heard on the 30th of March 2021.

An eye witness on the scene who saw the man and his daughter enter the elephant habitat, shared the following with the police:
