This got us thinking about relationship goals and how we connect with partners.

Stacey and J Sbu decided to ask KZN: "What relationship goals have you achieved with your partner that you never thought you would?"

Ultimately, every relationship is unique and one can not compare a past to a current relationship.

"It's like comparing honey and garbage cans," says Stacey Norman.

Here are some practical ways to set goals in relationships:

  1. Communicate effectively and openly

  2. Agree to disagree

  3. Accept your partner for who they are

  4. Inspire each other to be the best versions of yourself

  5. Consider and consult each other

  6. Find your unique balance emotionally

  7. Talk about the future

  8. Chat about uncomfortable topics

  9. Seek professional advice when needed
