A remarkable encounter between a snake rescuer and a large python has left many in awe. Nick Evans, a seasoned snake rescuer, was called to assist with a snake sighting near the M19 in New Germany.

The snake was spotted in a patch of bush next to the highway, and Evans was initially sceptical about the identification of the species

Upon arrival, Evans was surprised to find that the snake was indeed a python, a species that is not commonly found in the area. The python was basking in the sun, and Evans approached it cautiously. However, the snake suddenly exploded into action, and Evans had to grab its tail to prevent it from escaping. With the help of his assistant, Joseph, Evans was able to wrestle the snake to the ground and secure it.

The python measured around 3.3-3.5 meters in length, and its origins remain a mystery. Evans believes that it is unlikely to have come from the nearby New Germany Nature Reserve, and it may have been transported to the area in a truck.

The rescue effort was a success, and the python was safely released into an undisclosed location. Evans praised the municipality for their prompt response and care for the snake's well-being.

This incredible encounter highlights the importance of snake rescue efforts and the need for expertise in handling these situations. Evans' experience and Joseph's assistance ensured the safe capture and release of the python, and their efforts are a testament to the dedication of snake rescuers.
