President Cyril Ramaphosa somewhat addressed his internet nickname, “Cupcake”, in a video that has since taken TikTok by storm. The charming interaction had us screaming “aww” as we couldn’t deal with the cuteness overload.

The video captures a lighthearted exchange between the president and a student. Ramaphosa is seen walking by, and the student whispers, “Cupcake”. To everyone’s delight and surprise, Ramaphosa leans in and softly responds with a simple, “Hello”.

This endearing moment has been reshared on multiple social media platforms, garnering thousands of likes, comments, and shares all while melting the hearts of people all over SA.

The nickname, “Cupcake”, has been affectionately used by South Africans online for some time now, but this is the first instance where the president has publicly acknowledged it.
