WhatsApp groups have become the norm, whether it is for work purposes, your close-knit friends or even your high school 10-year reunion. We get it, groups are ultra-convenient for all parties involved, however, that does not mean they are not a pain in the backside!

If there was ever to be the MVP of WhatsApp groups though, Stacey and J Sbu reckon it would be the family groups. You will definitely be annoyed. You have to constantly play catch up on the conversation threads, and you can never even dare to leave the group. Not if you want to be a good family member.
The family groups, almost always seem like an obligation, there is no opt-out, or is there? True to every family, the family groups all have their own characters.

According to Says.com, there are about 17 types of relatives we all have in our WhatsApp family groups. The top 5 include the following:
1. The 'Breaking News' updater- the family member who shares the breaking news stories sometimes faster than the world's leading news outlets.
2. The one person who always warns you that you could die at any minute.
3. The one who needs to ask ONE person something but messages the chat group with 45 people in it.
4. The one who always greets everyone EVERY SINGLE DAY.
5. The one who likes to forward chain and broadcast messages.
Relatable content?
Well, J Sbu can definitely relate. Just this morning J Sbu shared screenshots of his family WhatsApp group that was popping off before even 10 am.
See the screenshots below:
Following the above non-stop messaging in the 'Nxumalo Family Group' J Sbu decided to do the unthinkable and left the group with no warning!
This is an everyday thing in our family whatsapp group. The group was meant for only conversing about family gatherings and important milestones. This morning I reached my breaking point, the conversations ranged from one family member sharing that they were suffering from diarrhea to another pushing a conspiracy theory on whether or not the president would be taking the country to level 5 again.- J Sbu
J Sbu admitted that he tried muting the group on more than one occasion; however, his mother would always refer back to the group when she asked him for something.

Admittedly we can all agree that family Whatsapp groups can be utterly tedious and most of us stay in the groups because well, it's family.
No word on any backlash or feedback from his family since his exit.
