Inspired by celebrity nutritionist Dr Daryl Gioffre, TikTokers are flocking to try out this new trend.
According to dieticians, when you add water to the chia seeds it causes the seeds to swell, thanks to the fiber and it’s that gel that may help with pooping.
However, too much fibre can often be an issue. This isn't stopping the die-hard fans and those that are eager to try this out.

Dietitian Jenna Werner, who has more than 112,000 followers on the platform, says: “The issue that I have with this ‘trend’ is when you start to look at these videos, they’re being discussed as ‘detoxes,’ ‘post-weekend drinking detoxing,’ ‘hormonal cleanse,’ basically ‘s – – t your pants and undo all the damage that you did'."
She later adds: “That’s f – – king bulls – – t and that doesn’t work.”
