Now don't panic, but if by some chance you're reading this on your phone, had you considered the possibility that you might be getting a bizarre condition that's being called 'smartphone pinky' at all? We know, scary right?!

We spend so much time online and holding our phones more often than ever these days and some people are starting to complain that their little finger is bending in such a way that can only seemingly be because of the constant phone-holding.

Now there's a growing number of people online who think that the way they hold their mobile could be affecting their hands. If you glance at TikTok or Twitter, you'll find people complaining about their 'deformed' fingers, and claiming that it is their phone causing the change.

The irony of posting on social media about how your phone might be destroying your fingers is weird because you are using those exact fingers you are complaining about. But should this really be a concern?

Well, some are worried about it.

One person tweeted:

One Twitter user also said:

"For context. (Notice the huge gap in between my pinky and ring finger from supporting my huge ass iphone on the inside of my pinky)"

But in the bigger context of things, whilst having a little bend in your pinky is unlikely to do you that much damage, some experts seem to believe that the over use of your phone could be damaging your hand in the long run.

There is no clinical evidence about what the condition is, or whether it actually exists, but with that said it's possible that it could be caused by the repetitive strain of constantly holding a device.

So maybe let's try use our phones less than we usually do...
