The gossip corner: Have you ever overheard your parents gossiping about you?
Updated | By Stacey and JSbu
Imagine being in a room and your parents, without being aware of your presence, are deep within a conversation about you and it's not just any conversation - it's some juicy gossip?!
It goes without saying that our parents also indulge in some gossip now and again, but usually it's about someone else - a friend, the neighbour, other family members, but never about you.
Read: If you caught a fellow colleague gossiping about you, what would you do?
So what happens when the tables are turned and the gossip is all about you?
One listener said:
It wasn't my parents gossiping about me. It was my aunts. They were outside, not aware that I hadn't gone to work. I was locked up in my room. "He's useless," one of them said. "All he does is party his salary away. I can't believe these kids." They went on to talk about how I wouldn't be able to fullfil the things I'd said I would do. I would be too busy swimming in alcohol to do it. I felt like bursting out of my room and surprising them. I could have done that. But then I'd be busted for bunking work.- Zithulele Sibanyoni
