Durban-born chef Patrick Williams is bringing a taste of South Africa to London with his new restaurant, Kudu. Williams and his wife, Amy Corbin, opened their flagship restaurant in Peckham, South London, in 2018. The couple's vision was to create a small neighbourhood restaurant serving high-quality food, showcasing Williams' South African roots.

As executive chef, Williams draws inspiration from his parents - his dad, a braai master, and his mom, a spice expert. Growing up in Durban, Williams would accompany his mom to markets to buy spices for her recipes.

The Kudu Collective, which includes several restaurants, infuses modern European cooking with South African flair. Their dishes include Kalahari-spiced biltong, stuffed peri-peri chicken wings and rooibos pickled carrot.

The couple's restaurants have become a staple in London's culinary scene, with their flagship offering a unique blend of flavours.

A New Chapter

According to BusinessTech, the Kudu Collective is leaving Peckham for Marylebone in central London, marking a new era for the group. The new restaurant will feature a refreshed interior design, including a private dining room and bar area.

Williams expressed his excitement about the move, saying it opens up opportunities to share and celebrate South African cuisine with guests. Ahead of the move, Kudu and Kudu Grill will offer a limited-edition 'Best of Kudu' menu throughout July.
