Life has evolved since the introduction of the internet, in more ways than we can even imagine.

With the introduction of the internet came the need for speedy and reliable connections to stay online. The need for speedy internet has not only affected how we consume media, but also the way we live our lives.

If we're honest in our reflection mode, we can say that we are always rushing through life and our achievements, always wanting more or searching for the next big thing.

This mentality has urged us to ask that ever-so-important question: What was life like before the internet for you?

We asked you to complete the sentence: "Before the internet..."

If we have to ask ourselves the question, there is an array of things that were cool before the internet came to be such an integral part of our lives.

  1. No Google, only guesswork and research
  2. Crafting mixtapes instead of finding playlists
  3. Using phone booths and landlines instead of mobile phones
  4. Physical maps and getting lost
  5. Real life games instead of virtual realities
  6. Physical cameras and video cameras were carried with you
  7. Pen to paper calendars, notes, and planners
  8. An archive room instead of digital storage
  9. The Yellow Pages and local papers thrived
  10. People went to stores in real life

Stacey Norman shares her most vivid memories of life before the internet, which involved encyclopaedias.

A time when you would have to use these books to prepare your school projects, and if you didn't have the right volume, then you would have to rely on your parents or grandparents' knowledge. She admits that there were numerous times she misquoted people...

The nostalgia that comes with listing things that were interesting leaves us feeling giddy.

It certainly is a generational thing, with many people who lived through it and then those who hear stories about it. The difference is unequivocally reserved for those who lived through it.

Because as you know, some experiences cannot transport you back in time. Well, the purist side of us thinks that, but the truth is with the internet, you most likely could experience it, virtually.
