A mother shares that she reached out to her ex's new partner to chat. Support is fundamental in the formative years of a child, thus she wishes to make sure all parental figures are on the same page.

According to HelpGuide.org, the key to successful co-parenting is to separate the personal relationship with your ex from the co-parenting relationship. It may be helpful to start thinking of your relationship with your ex as a completely new one - one that is entirely about the well-being of your children and not about either of you.

Many sources on the net sing the same tune - co-parenting is all about balance. Having tough conversations, coming up with a plan, and having grace for your co-parent/s is what will ultimately benefit the child.
