Calling people 'Chicken' Or 'Pig' is 'Speciest', PETA says

We have all had those moments where we called someone a chicken, pig or rat. Seems normal, right?

Growing up, we've always treated and used these "pet names" freely, especially when it comes to something negative, but we usually don't think too much about it because it's something light and fun.

However, PETA wants this to stop because it's 'speciest'. Who would have thought?!

Apparently, the animal rights organisation thinks it's unfair on the animals when their names are used as human behaviours or a as joke.

In a Twitter thread, PETA said:

PETA posted a picture and continued to highlighted that 'chicken' usually means someone is a coward, a pig is someone who is repulsive, a rat equals a snitch, a snake is a jerk, and a sloth is lazy.

The post went viral on social media, with more than 19,000 people commenting on it and a further 21,000 people quote tweeting it.

One user wrote on Twitter:

Not sure if this will catch on to people soon, though, but guess we'll have to wait and see...
