Big Walk 2025: You showed up in style and high spirits!
Updated | By East Coast Radio
From start to finish, the 2025 Suncoast East Coast Radio Big Walk was packed with feel-good energy, smiles and community spirit.

The Suncoast East Coast Radio Big Walk 2025 was a day to remember, Durban really showed off!
You, our lovely and energetic walkers, came out in your thousands. Dressed to impress in your sprightly turquoise and yellow t-shirts, allowing us to kick off our 21st year in style.
Things started off with a bang as Ty Stoltz dropped the beats, a local pantsula crew got the crowd moving, and Virgin Active’s Linda Zwane brought the heat with an energising warm-up. With ECR’s Styles Mbatha getting you ready, it’s no wonder you were filled with energy.
Approaching the start line, the East Coast Breakfast team were waiting, horn ready, to kick off the family fun!
Suncoast East Coast Radio Big Walk participants had the opportunity to get their selfie game on with their favourite presenters along the route – capturing moments of the fun-filled day.
At each refreshment station, an ECR presenter and entertainer brought the vibe, and cheered participants on with refreshments from aQuellé, ensuring everyone was adequately hydrated under the beating KZN sun.
The 2025 Suncoast East Coast Radio Big Walk journey kicked off with Ndabe and the KZN Youth Wind Band setting the perfect tone! From there, it was good vibes only as Danny Guselli and Tee Xaba brought the hype with the students of Our Lady of Fatima Dominican Convent School.
Station three was a party zone! Shaina-Rae kept spirits high with Matt Davies, Tim Lewis and the ever-energetic Dolphin's mascot, Dolphy.
The 10km walkers had an exclusive bonus stop with Deon G, our classic hits king, who was ready to power the crowd through that final stretch alongside Sharks mascot, Sharky.
Approaching Moses Mabhida People’s Park, the energy hit an all-time high with Carol Ofori and the vibrant ECR and Suncoast Cheerleaders dancing and cheering participants across the finish line.
Yashna hit every note of the Big Walk Anthem perfectly, setting the mood as Stacey and J Sbu brought you into the cool-down zone with all the love.
Kyle Deutch and his band kept the celebration going with live music, while Suncoast and East Coast Radio handed out epic spot prizes.
A big highlight of the day? A generous cheque of R120,000 was presented to the KZN Cerebral Palsy Association, filling the park with smiles and heartfelt gratitude.
“The event is about so much more than walking – it’s about community, connection, and making a difference,” says East Coast Radio’s Managing Director, Mzuvele Mthethwa.
“This year’s donation to The KZN Cerebral Palsy Association is just one example of how this event continues to uplift lives.”
Suncoast’s Director of Operations, Adam MacIntyre, adds: “Seeing thousands of smiling faces along the promenade is what makes the Suncoast ECR Big Walk so special. This year, with the addition of the Big Walk Anthem and our significant contribution to the KZN Cerebral Palsy Association, we created even more unforgettable moments. We can’t wait for next year!”
Following the heartwarming handover, Sheralee got the crowd moving with some warm-down Zumba while Queenfitnass brought the stretches to save your legs.
As the sun reached it's highest point and the heat kicked in, the Big Walk came to an end. J Sbu took to the decks and Stacey led the final charge with joy and flair.
Thank you, KZN, for bringing the love and community spirit to the 2025 Suncoast East Coast Radio Big Walk. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
