Sex after a break-up is it cheating

I am against cheating no matter how the situation panned out or how damaged the relationship is. But the email we received got me thinking, if you’re on a break is it cheating? I can understand how you might feel hurt and how your ego may take a hit but technically speaking you and your partner weren't dating, so it can’t be cheating? Surely?

Our email came through like this; “WTF - Bongani, my girlfriend and I broke up and a week later she slept with someone else and she didn't tell me. We got back together and I found out, but she says it's not cheating, but I feel like it is. Do I leave her?”
