The tension in the Ukraine can be felt throughout the world. 

But, what we're feeling does not come close to what Ukrainian citizens are going through.

We've spoken to South African citizens who escaped from Ukraine and made a terrifying journey back home, and we couldn't imagine what they actually went through because we weren't there.

@Valerisssh has been documenting life in Ukraine since the Russian invasion, including videos of her living in a bunker with her family before the journey to Poland.

She also documents what life in Ukraine was like during the attacks and shares footage of towns that were destroyed by the Russian military.

ECR Newswatch reported that Poland, which borders Ukraine, risks becoming a future target of Russian attacks after Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine on February 24. This is a move that will affect Poland's safety, with growing concerns that Russia could retaliate for the Polish government's offer to grant Ukrainian residents safe passage into the country. 

On Thursday, 17 March, Britain deployed missile defence systems in Poland to offer a layer protection over Poland.
