Passive aggressive Christmas gifts

Have you ever received a Christmas gift wrapped in a not-so-subtle hint? You won't believe what you're about to read.

A number of Reddit users have shared stories of not-so-nice Christmas gifts they've received.

Well, not-so-nice as in gifts with a not-so-subtle passive aggressive message.

Here are a few of the most shocking.

One user wrote: "I got an iPod shuffle. This was great."

"Except the person who gifted it says to me after I open it, 'I thought this would help in getting you out walking so you can lose weight'.

"The thought was nice, just would have been better if she didn't say it in front of everyone."

Another classic: "My mother-in-law gave me a blouse that was size 24. I was a size 8."

And another user refused to back down.

After her sister sent her a book called How to Dress for Your Body Type, she waited a year to regift it back. Ouch!

One girl says her stepmother gave her acne wash, deodorant and a pack of gum for Christmas. Say what?

And, this one might just be the worst of them all!

One person received a full toilet air-freshener spray kit during the office Secret Santa.

He wrote: "I was once given a Poo Pourri gift set (a whole arsenal of sprays and creams, came in a toilet shaped box!) by someone at work as part of a secret Santa exchange. It was a bit embarrassing since I had only worked there for about six months at the time. No one I talked to at the party admitted to being my secret Santa."

What's the worst gift you've ever received? What did you do about it?
