Does your complexion play a role in people’s interaction with you?

This
year has seen many debates around skin complexion and the things people do to
change their natural skin colours. However, what happens in a case of loving
your complexion but being discriminated against just because your skin colour
is darker than the conventional colour of people in your race group?

During an episode of WTF an Indian girl from KZN wrote in opening up to Bongani and Mags about how her parents treat her differently just because her skin is darker than her sisters.

This edition of WTF was a true case of ‘Mirror Mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?’ Unfortunately for the Indian girl writing to us, wasn’t and because of that her own family has cast her aside and this has left her feeling like an ugly duckling.

The dilemma this young girl faced is not an uncommon one, that is why some people resort to bleaching their skin.
