WATCH: KZN locals help clean the beach on World Oceans Day

Community members in KwaZulu-Natal celebrated World Oceans Day on Wednesday, 8 June, with a clean-up at Beachwood Beach.
It's day that is celebrated annually, to raise awareness of the challenges faced by the world’s oceans.
Janet Simpkins, who is the founder of the conservation NPO Adopt-A-River, raised concerns about how the oceans and rivers are the heartbeat of the planet and need protection.

At least 120 bags of litter were collected by the dedicated volunteers on the day.
