According to Briefly, a Venda woman’s traditional grasshopper recipe has gone viral on TikTok. 

The recipe, which was posted by a user named @mamabongani, has been viewed over three-million times and shared thousands of times, with people from all over the world showing an interest in the unique dish.

The TikTok video below shows how this woman was able to take grasshoppers and make a whole tasty meal out of it:

The chemical engineering student has a company called Matomani that uses Mopane worms in their food products. 

It's quite weird to think that worms can be used in food, although many restaurants offer snails - so it was only a matter of time. 

“Mopane worms are a good source of protein,” says dietician Sylven Masoga, who works in the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Limpopo.
