Uproar over Priyanka's photoshopped armpits

Uproar over Priyanka's photoshopped armpits

Is it just Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra's flawless skin, or did someone at Maxim India go a bit crazy with the Photoshop?

Priyanka armpit saga

There's no doubt about it. Priyanka Chopra is hot. Very hot.

Her armpits? Not so much.

That's if you agree with what the publishers of Maxim India have to say. They've made Priyanka the cover girl of the mag's latest edition. No doubt she looks absolutely incredible!

There's one thing about the image that's ticked fans off, though.

Her armpits have been photoshopped. Yup, her armpits. Weird? Many fans are fuming saying they’ve done so much work to her under arms that they look unrealistic. One person noted that they looked totally plastic with no trace of creases or pigmentation, not even a single blemish. See for yourself.

Here’s a question for the publishers of women’s/style magazines. Do you think that if you portrayed women in their real skin that we would stop buying your mags?

What defines the perfect body type? Who makes the rules? I should certainly hope it isn’t the covers of women’s magazines the world over? We are already perfect in our own skin. We don’t need to be airbrushed into ‘perfection’ or fiddled with by your graphic designers into looking beautiful or 'ideal' to make a sale. If these celebs weren’t good enough for your spread, why approach them in the first place?

Poll: If magazines published images of what women really look like, would you stop buying them?
