Tertiary education is crucial, as specific jobs require you to have a form of higher education.

But the reality is that attending a university is super expensive.

There are bursary options for students to apply for, but not everyone qualifies.

So, let’s have a look at what the fees are going to be like for students studying in 2023 at South Africa’s tertiary education institutions.

The University of Cape Town holds the title of the best university in South Africa, ranking 160th overall, climbing 23 places over the past year from 183rd.

According to Times Higher Education’s latest ranking, 15 local universities are listed among the world’s top tertiary institutions for 2023.

And with this prestige comes a pretty price to pay.

The fees apply to first-year studies for 2023 and only act as an approximation and exclude other fees such as textbooks, travel and residency.
