The Māori All Blacks pay tribute to Anthony Foley
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
After a weekend of internationals in rugby, cricket and football, the sporting world once again has seen upsets, moments or brilliance and pure skill and talent displayed.
Big result for Bafana Bafana who took a step closer towards qualification for Russia 2018.
As for the Proteas well rain got the better of Day 2 of the second Test against the Aussies but one must commend them for bowling out the Baggie Greens for 85 in the 1st innings, big Vern what a legend.
Then our beloved Springboks - well my prediction was England by 15 and I was 1 off with the pommies winning 37-21 and I won't say anymore.
But for me, the highlight of the weekend and possibly in rugby this season happened in a match that was a bit low key and not top of the agenda .
The Māori All Blacks pay tribute to Anthony Foley (All Blacks B team) showed that rugby in more than just a game. It is about respect and brotherhood. The Māori All Blacks were in limerick to take on Irish Giants Munster in a tour match but the day will not be forgotten for one special reason.
Munster suffered a tragedy last month with head coach Anthony Foley passing away at the team hotel the day before a match.
Foley was Ireland and Munster legend and only aged 42 he certainly was a big loss for rugby as a whole.
Now this is what I call to respect and stuff that makes my spine tingle.
Before performing the traditional pre-game Haka, captain Ash Dixon and three members of the team walked to the half-way line and placed a jersey with the late Munster head coach's initials between both sides as a mark of respect to him.
After completing the Haka, Dixon then presented Foley's sons, Dan and Tony with the jersey. Munster won the match 27-14 but for me, the real winners of the day were the All Blacks Māori team.

What a tribute from The Maori @AllBlacks as they remember Anthony Foley before the Haka #HistoryInTheMaking #MUNvMAB https://t.co/qFvvQdboY1
