The CMA's Delaine Cools had eluded to the fact that it was a magical day for the 96th edition of the ultimate human race.

"I don't think it could've gone to two more deserving athletes in both Tete Dijana (breaking David Gatebe's 2016 best time of 5:18:19) and Gerda Steyn, also breaking Frith van der Merwe's 1989's best time of 5.54.43," says Delaine.

As the race unfolded on Sunday, Steyn showcased her exceptional skills, leaving her competitors trailing behind.

With each stride, she overcame daunting obstacles and pushed through the pain barrier, her unwavering focus locked on the ultimate goal to complete the race and etch her name in Comrade's history.
