Ten things to do with your kids these school holidays

Before they drive you crazy enough to give them away, we have ten ideas to help you out.

Kids sleepovers: Yay or Nay?

We're almost a week into the school holidays and for busy moms and dads it's hard to keep the children entertained and out of trouble, so we've put together a list to help you out.

1. It's cold now, so how about getting them to make an obstacle course indoors? You can use sheets, pillows, boxes etc. They can practice and then you time the final race.

2. Organise a treasure hunt. You draw the map and get them to work out the clues to the hidden treasure. It will need some creativity on your part but it could keep them going for hours, so it's worth it.

3. For those into arts and crafts, get them to make sock puppets with wool, a permanent marker, buttons, and small pieces of old material and paint. They can then work on their own little production and put on a puppet show for the family after dinner!

4. Make them feel like a giant – take them to Mini Town on the beach front!

5. Flag animal farm in Ballot is always a great destination.

6. Hit the ice by going to the ice rink for some skating. This should be lots of fun... and falling.

7. Lucky Bean kids park in Assagay. Great coffee and food while the kids have a ball!

8. Join a holiday club. If ten parents with ten groups of kids join, then each parent in turn takes a day off work and plays Mother Hubbard for a day.

9. You can never go wrong with board games! Get as many of them as possible and they will be entertained for a long time.

I forgot how fun this game was. #boardgames #rampage

10. If you need to get rid of those old pans and baking trays, then we suggest you give them to your kids, some mud, sand, stones, and flowers will make a great sandy 'meal'. Garden Master Chef will be epic fun.
