Chocolate causes tension between teacher and mom

An Australian mother found a note in her daughter's school bag when she came home. Did the teacher have a right to judge her choice of lunch for her daughter?
This picture doing the rounds at the moment has parents engaged in a heavy debate. It's of a letter an Australian mother found in her daughter’s school bag when she came home.
Her three-year-old’s teacher criticised her choice of lunch for her daughter.
The note reads: YOUR CHILD HAS A CHOCOLATE SLICE from the red food category today. Please choose healthier options for Kindy.
Red food category are foods which are seen as unhealthy: State funded schools in South Australia are subject to the Right Bite programme, which classifies foods into red, amber, and green categories.
SA has massive sugar and bad diet issues - and obesity is a real thing here. Would you be okay with teachers sending you notes like this if you did the same? Or is this a bit cheeky from the teacher?
