Durban north residents are set for glam and luxury with new mall opening in November.

KwaZulu-Natal is gearing up for loads of things this summer.

Later on this month, another tourist attraction will be available to the public.

According to Business Tech, the new mall is called Oceans Mall. It's situated in Umhlanga and is expected to open its doors to the public this month. 

The new establishment promises to bring luxury retail and high-end fashion to Durban shores. 

What did it cost to build, you ask? R1.3-billion...

According to Business Tech, the R1.3-billion Oceans Mall forms part of R4.3-billion mixed-use Oceans development in Umhlanga. 

This includes three towers with luxury apartments and a hotel.

The project was designed by Elphick Proome Architecture and is being further co-developed by businessman and founder of the Edison Group, Vivian Reddy.

The mall is planning a grand opening on 15 November, launching its first phase. 

The second phase of the mall is expected to launch in March 2023.

The mall will include a Hard Rock Cafe, as well as high-end restaurants like Umhlanga Feast, Olive & Oil, Tigers Milk, Seven Seas Sushi, The Hussar Grill, Nando’s, New York Deli, and Romano Ice Cream.

Then there will be normal retailers that will be anchored at the mall, these include Woolworths, Pick n Pay Clothing, Checkers, Checkers Liquor, Medirite Pharmacy, and Clicks.
