The COVID-19 pandemic might have put a stop to international travel, but as it turns out companies are focusing on bigger, more futuristic things.

We know that Elon Musk's SpaceX has been working on space travel for many years now, but other organisations have also been investing in the possibility of travel that will take vacationers out of this world.

The latest group to unveil their space travel plans is Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic.

Branson, who has already left his mark on the travel industry with Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Voyages, and Virgin Trains USA, is now branching out even further and will be taking it to intergalactic levels.

Virgin Galactic recently unveiled their VSS Imagine, the first addition to their SpaceShip III vehicles:

Virgin is working on seriously developing their commercial spaceflight company and they're hoping to begin testing their latest spacecraft this year. They will be starting off with conducting ground tests and glide flights from the New Mexico Spaceport America, with the hopes of eventually flying tourists out into suborbital space.

If this proves successful, they are aiming at facilitating around 400 spaceflights a year from its many different spaceports.

Prospective travelers have already paid millions for their tickets and to secure their spot with the hopes of one day traveling into outer space.

Apparently, this is their most promising spacecraft to date as their first attempt, the VSS Enterprise, was completely destroyed when it crashed in 2014.

Their second attempt, the VSS Unity, is set to undergo another test flight in May 2021, which will be its first flight since February 2019.
