Rugby league player leaves the sport for 'Love Island' TV show

Jacques O’Neill is a rugby league player and has decided to take a break from the sport so he can appear on 'Love Island'. Jacques has been released from his contract at Castleford Tigers in order to do so.

The rugby league club confirmed through social media that the player has been released, wishing him all the best with his new adventure. The Tigers have the first option to sign O’Neill back next year should he wish to return to rugby league.

After jetting to the 'Love Island' villa, O’Neill is set for an awkward encounter as he meets up with ex-girlfriend Gemma Owen. She is the daughter of ex-Liverpool, Newcastle, and Manchester United star Michael Owen.
