Updated | By Darren, Keri, Sky
Just months after undergoing refurbishment, the SAS Durban took a nosedive in the Durban Harbour on 29 June.
The Ethekwini Municipality has engaged the services of a diving company to investigate what may have led to the partial sinking of the SAS Durban, a minesweeper belonging to the Durban (Port Natal) Maritime Museum and used as a floating exhibit in the port.
It has been revealed that the incident took place on Monday night, where the vessel took on water and sunk partially - no individuals were onboard.

According to Msawakhe Mayisela, who is the Ethekwini spokesperson, the municipality is working together with the Transnet Ports Authority and the Southern African Shipyards.
"There are no injuries or fatalities reported. There was also no oil spillage as a result of the ship sinking. Once we have concluded the investigation we will communicate our next course of action," said Mayisela.
