Carlos Gordoa and Ariani Reyes of San Antonio, Texas are a married couple that has filled a lawsuit against global tech company Apple

This is due to the fact that they claim their Airpods were the reason that their child has suffered permanent hearing loss.

The parents are demanding Apple to pay over $75,000 (which is around R1.2-million) in damages. They believe their 12-year-old son suffered hearing loss when an Amber Alert went off while he was using his Airpods.

According to the lawsuit, the 12-year-old, named B.G, was watching Netflix with his Airpods.

The video was at a low volume, but then an Amber Alert sound went off without warning at a much higher volume.

The alert's sound tore B.G's ear drum, damaged his cochlea, and caused significant injuries to B.G.'s hearing.

The lawsuit also details that B.G would be using a hearing aid for the rest of his life in his right ear.

While Apple has not responded as yet, the attorney representing the family, Tej Paranjpe,  has already issued a statement on behalf of the family.
