Nutella’s dropping a new flavour

Nutella’s dropping a new flavour

Stop everything because Nutella is getting nutty! After 61 years of perfection, they’re finally adding a new twist to the iconic spread.

Okay, Nutella lovers, gather ’round.

You know how Nutella has basically been that girl for, well, everything?

Toast. Waffles. Pancakes and those late-night, standing-in-front-of-the-fridge, spoon-to-jar moments.

Well, after 61 years of being the undisputed champion of chocolatey, hazelnutty goodness… Nutella is finally shaking things up.

Introducing Nutella Peanut. Yep, you heard me.

The spread we’ve been scooping out like it’s a personality trait is getting a peanutty twist.

Honestly, it makes so much sense. It’s kinda annoying we didn’t demand this sooner.

It’s set to launch in Spring 2026, and Nutella Peanut is described by the big bosses over at Ferrero as “combining the distinctive creaminess of Nutella cocoa hazelnut spread with the delicious taste of roasted peanuts.”

Translation: your toast is about to hit different.

Fun fact: this isn’t some rushed-in-the-boardroom idea. This peanutty perfection has been five years in the making.

They’ve been quietly plotting this glow-up at their Illinois factory.

They even dropped a cool $75 million (about R1.3 billion) on expanding the factory to make room for this spreadable legend-in-the-making. No small peanuts, hey?

Now, whether Nutella Peanut becomes a forever thing is still up in the air.

According to Nutella’s marketing boss, Seth Gonzalez, it’s something they’re keen to keep around if people vibe with it.

Between the hype and our society’s unhealthy peanut butter obsession, I’d say it’s got a fighting chance.
