Embarking on his inaugural extreme safari expedition, the fearless adventurer navigates the iconic Great Rift Valley in East Africa.

Audel's remarkable odyssey unfolds in 'Primal Survivor: Extreme African Safari', debuting on National Geographic across Africa (DStv 181) on Wednesday, 22 November 2023, at 21:00 (CAT).

Take a listen to the eye-opening stories he shared with us in studio:

Transitioning from his role as a biology teacher to becoming a survival instructor, wilderness guide, and naturalist, Hazen has consistently employed an experiential approach to education. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, specialising in botany and zoology, he expanded his academic journey with a Master's Degree in Tropical Biology and Science Education. But it doesn't end here...

In addition to his adeptness in scuba diving, mountaineering, and whitewater travel, Hazen's career in biology has led him to the farthest reaches of the West, down under in Australia, Indonesia, and even the South Pacific. Fluent in Spanish and proficient in several indigenous languages such as Bahasa, Quichua, and South Pacific Pidgin, his linguistic skills reflect his diverse global experiences. Ooh la la!
