#LifeHacksByKeri: How to stop rings from turning your finger green

This week on #LifeHacksByKeri, she finally found a way to hide those ugly green ring stains that form when wearing cosmetic jewellery.

Ring Life Hack

Being able to have a choice of gorgeous rings and bracelets is only for the rich and famous, unless you choose to go the costume jewelry route.

It's all fun and games until you take them off at the end of the day and see that your skin has been turned green.

Why does costume jewelry turn our skin green anyway?

Well, it's simple science. The acid in your skin mixes with the metal of your jewelry, leaving a green stain behind. This is most common with copper but real gold and silver can cause this discolouration too.

Today's lifehack will have your friends turning green with envy, not your fingers.

What you will need

  • Jewelry that makes your skin green
  • Clear nail polish (or a choice of colour if you're feeling adventurous)

What to do

  • Apply a coat of nail polish evenly to the underside of your jewelry (anywhere that touches your skin). Wait for it to dry, and say goodbye to those green ring stains for good.

Things to note

  • The nail polish may wear off over time so ensure that you repeat this process once in a while.
  • Avoid getting these pieces of jewelry wet. It will help extend the life of them.
  • Soap from handwashing or Chlorine from your pool will make it worse so make sure you remove them

Try it out and thank me later.
