SEE: KZN Schools Hockey set for bumper tours, squads announced

Schools hockey is in for a bumper June holidays.

School hockey kids can't wait for the holiday season to start.

From 23 June to 12 July, there will be an inter-provincial hockey tournament taking place in Bloemfontein, as well as other tours happening around the country.

Various KZN coastal hockey teams will participate in various inter-provincial hockey tournaments that have been announced. 

According to the Pinnacle South Africa,  in 2022 last year, Durban High School had a school record of 36 provincial representatives and now in 2023, they sit with 31 to their name.

Meanwhile, Clifton School is second only to DHS in the overall number of A-team selections and their good numbers across all three age groups speaks volumes about the health of hockey at the school. 

Kearsney, Northwood, and Westville are just some of many schools in the coastal region that fill out the remainder of the places within the coastal sides.

An U18 hockey tournament for boys and girls is taking place from 25 to 30 June in Bloemfontein. 

The U16 version of the boys and girls national tournament runa from 7 to 12 July at the same venue. 

Congratulations to the coastal representatives who made the various A, B, and C teams. Represent your schools, families, and coastal sides proudly.

KZN Coastal U14A

Hamza Amla, Nabil Bejia, Aaron Blackburn, Luc Boyall, Tom du Plessis, Dylan Forbes, Dean Hart, Mkondweni Hluma, Makohlisa, Locke Mazibuko Sandi, Kwezi Mbutho, Ovayo Ntlokwana, Eben Peters, Keegan Reeves, Sibeko Sisekelo, and Jessie van Wyk.

KZN Coastal U14B

Mason Bosman, Keegan Brauns, Luke Carolan, Kai Cotton, Mpumelelo Dladla , Blake Herselman, Ryan Herselman, Elchaan Lubbe , Muhammed Malek , Luke Oliviera de Mendes, Mnqobi Mhlongo, Max Nicholsan, Soyama Plaatjie , Matt Potgieter, Cole Spogte and Luke Treleavan.
