KZN school retains top spot as most expensive in Mzansi

Here is a list of South Africa's school insititutions that let the money do the talking.

As the new year starts to take shape, the start of the new school year is approaching fast.

As much as we have officially been bitten by the holiday bug, the reality of returning to normal is upon us.

But that normal can come at quite the cost.

KwaZulu-Natal is known for having some of the country's best private schools, but they aren't cheap.

According to a Business Insider report, below is a list of schools that are regarded as the most expensive South African private day schools in 2023:

Kearsney College, which is located in Hillcrest, remains South Africa's most expensive school for 2023.

One year of matric (Grade 12) costs R224,620 for a day scholar, a 7.5% or R15,620 increase from 2022.

St John's College and Roedean School remain in second and third place, respectively.

Despite hefty increases for 2023, pushing both of these schools into the R190,000 per year category, they're still R30,000 cheaper than Kearsney.
