Keri's Wellness Wednesday: Soften butter in seconds!
Updated | By Keri Miller
This is the quickest and safest way to soften your butter without making it watery!

We’ve all been there. Perhaps it was after watching hours and hours of ‘Come Dine With Me’, maybe it was a last minute decision, either way – you have invited over 5-10 of your closest friends and you’re throwing (what you hope will be) the dinner party of the … week.
You are dishing up when you realise… you’ve left the butter in the fridge. It is hard and isn’t going to be doing any spreading any time soon.
There just isn’t enough time to let it ‘melt’ naturally, and if you microwave butter it is just gross.
This hack WORKS, and will change your butter game.
What you will need:
- Refrigerated butter
- Side plate
- Small glass

This hack WORKS, and will change your butter game.
What you will need:
- Refrigerated butter
- Side plate
- Small glass
- Warm water/microwave

What to do?
1. Place the rock hard butter on the side plate
2. Heat the glass by either: placing it in the microwave for about 20seconds, or running hot water over it (we need to warm the glass)
3. Place the warmed glass upside down over the butter and BE AMAZED.
The butter under the warm glass will soften quickly and save you from a dinner disaster.
