Keri’s Wellness Wednesday: Ear pegs to help heal discomfort

Keri Miller has found an age old pain relief method to help relieve you from discomfort.

Are you feeling a little ‘off’ today? Not keen to spend money and time going to the doctor? Try this age old pain relief method and you will be amazed at how well it really works!

When I was studying reflexology I came across this method of using simple clothes pegs as a way to apply pressure to specific areas to induce pain relief. If you are interested, look up the Chinese Meridian Theory.

I was obviously skeptical… until I tried it. At first it was actually pretty uncomfortable but I definitely felt a difference.

What you will need:

1. The Upper Part Of The Ear

This part of the ear is directly connected to your BACK and SHOULDERS. Apply pressure to the upper ear for one minute (two minutes if you can handle) every day and say goodbye to back and shoulder tension.

2. The Top Of Your Ear’s Curve

Now we move to your ORGANS. So, if you feel like you have some internal discomfort, this is the spot for you. NB: If you have severe internal pain you will need to consult your GP immediately.

3. The Upper-Middle Part of the Ear

Do you sit at your desk ALL DAY? Are your joints stiff and painful? This is the spot for you. Remember to apply the pressure for at least one minute to feel relief (two mins is great).

4. The Lower-Middle Part of the Ear

Sinus issues? Sore throat? Applying pressure to the lower-middle part of your ear is really helpful in easing congestion. I know it sounds too good to be true, but just give it a try.

5. Just Above the Earlobe

Just eaten? Are you suffering from digestive/stomach pain? Apply the clothes peg here to prevent tummy discomfort.

6. Your Earlobe

This is the most common pressure point used because most of us suffer from headaches. This spot is great for relieving pressure headaches and migraines, and it is also connected with your heart, promoting heart health.

NB: Serious issues should always be brought to the attention of the doctor. The above techniques are aimed at helping with minor issues you would normally take a pain killer for.
