The children of Lakehaven Child and Youth Care Centre need our help. Here’s how you can get involved in our collection drive to help make a difference:

In the early hours of Thursday, 14 July 2016, a devastating fire broke out at the Lakehaven Child and Youth Care Centre in Sea Cow Lake, north of Durban.
Tragically, eight people, including several children, were killed in the blaze.
Most of the orphanage has been destroyed and food supplies are scarce.
East Coast Breakfast host, Darren Maule, would like you to help us make a difference for the 60 survivors of this tragic fire and help Lakehaven Child and Youth Care centre get back onto its feet.
On Monday, 18 July 2016, Darren and the team will be hosting a collection drive here at East Coast Radio. During a special broadcast of their 6am to 9am show, the team be collecting the following items between 6am-6pm:
Food/ basic priorities:
Biscuits and goodies for children
Cooking Oil
Mealie meal
Sugar
Tea bags
Butter
Tinned food
Peanut Butter
Jam
Spices for cooking
Pasta and macaroni
Lentils, Sugar beans, Samp
Toiletries for boys and girls
Toys and activity sets: soccer, tennis, rugby and basket balls, dolls, teddy bears, puzzles, colouring-in items, marbles, paints
Pyjamas
Stationery
Boys and girls clothing
Gifts for children’s birthdays
