#HeartStuff: S.E.A.L Academy for children with down syndrome needs your help
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
A Durban North mom of a boy with down syndrome wants to create a social and emotional learning environment for children with difficulty expressing themselves. We call upon the community to help her vision - and that of other parents in the same predicament, come to life.
Liza Hall is a mother of a Down Syndrome boy called Matthew, who has to travel 120km a day to try to get a decent quality schooling in smaller classes that accommodate his emotional needs.
The traveling to and from Matthew's school took a toll on Liza's family. Not only was it costly, but also emotionally exhausting.
Liza decided to take the matter into her own hands and needs your help to make her vision of creating a school, specifically designed to nurture and cater to the special needs of children with Down Syndrome, a reality.
