Gym tells women over 24 to hit the road during peak hours

Too old to treadmill? UK Gym bans women over 24 during peak hours, and the internet’s losing it!

Ah, the gym. A place where you go to sweat, suffer, and silently judge the person deadlifting twice your weight.

One gym has taken it a step further… by kicking out women over the age of 24 during certain hours.

Apparently after 24, you’re no longer gym-floor material between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

According to a story first reported by the New York Post, a 36-year-old woman took to a popular U.K. community forum, Mumsnet.com, to vent about a shocking email she received from her gym.

The email politely (but firmly) informed her that the gym would now be “reserved exclusively for females ages 12 to 24 years” during peak hours on weekdays.

The reason? “To better cater to our younger female members who require a dedicated, comfortable space after school and early evenings.”

Translation: Sis, you’re too old for this timeslot.

The woman, understandably gobsmacked, posted her experience in the “Am I Being Unreasonable?” section of the site with the question, “This is ridiculous, right?”

One of her biggest complaints is that she originally joined the gym because it had ladies-only hours until 7 p.m.

Now, with her membership basically downgraded to off-peak purgatory, she plans to cancel.

Her post sparked a lively online debate, with some users calling it age discrimination and others defending the policy as a way to give young women a safe space.

Let’s hope this gym doesn’t start a trend for other gyms around the world.

Otherwise, if you’re 25 and hoping to hit the treadmill after work, you might soon need to find somewhere else to sweat it out.

Or, you know, just jog angrily home.
