1. 

A Dutch court has confirmed Steinhoff's plan to switch from a publicly listed company owned by shareholders to a delisted group under the control of its creditors.

A German court issued an arrest warrant for Markus Jooste, former CEO of scandal-ridden retailer Steinhoff International Holdings, after he failed to show up for trial in the country.

Former eThekwini deputy mayor Philani Mavundla, who lost a by-election a week ago in the uMvoti Local Municipality, has been elected mayor in a closed special council meeting.

4. 

Doctors are feeling "more positive" about former Springbok Derick Hougaard's condition. He remains in a coma and is battling respiratory pneumonia at a Pretoria state hospital.
