With everything that is happening and being half past the weekend, here are five things to know before you get out of bed:

According to a letter Health Minister Joe Phaahla sent out to MECs, the country has exited the 5th wave and can, therefore, consider repealing COVID-19 regulations. For the first time since March 2020, South Africans might soon be able to rid themselves of masks entirely.

The iconic Hong Kong floating restaurant, Jumbo Kingdom, styled after a Chinese imperial palace, has sunk. It was towed away by tugboats after nearly half a century anchored in the city's southwest waters. Salvage work was reported as "extremely difficult".

The DA says it wants the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to investigate allegations of possible money laundering against President Cyril Ramaphosa. This after millions of dollars were stolen from Ramaphosa's Phala Phala game farm in February 2020.
