According to the latest data from the Central Energy Fund, petrol and diesel prices currently look set for large increases in the first week of June. This will increase the levy for petrol from R2.35 to R3.85 per litre. The levy on diesel will be hiked from R2.20 to R3.70 per litre.

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton and the FIA were in a standoff at this month's Miami Grand Prix over piercings the Mercedes driver has raced with for years and said he could not remove. According to Grand Prix Drivers' Association (GPDA) said Formula One is right to ban jewellery from the cockpit, but the governing FIA could have enforced the rule in a less confrontational way.

We heard about World Cup-winning Springbok Elton Jantjies who was arrested at O.R. Tambo. It has surfaced that he allegedly spent 10 minutes banging on the toilet door of an Emirates Airlines flight from Dubai to Johannesburg until his fists bled, saying "Komaan, my skat (Come on, my darling)", to an air hostess hiding in the cubicle.

Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe said the haulage truck driver recorded by another motorist driving dangerously, nearly causing a few accidents, has been found and arrested. This is shocking and you can watch the video on Darren, keri and Sky's page.
