Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
The 9th of August is very important day in South Africa's history and here are some ideas to help you celebrate the women in your life:
In case you've woken up with no clue in the world on what to do for the special women in your life (Because you've been busy working and not watching the Olympics), don't panic just yet.
We have compiled a list of very cost effective (Yes, because we love you that much) and amazing ideas on how you can spoil the leading ladies in your life.
These will require a lot of D.I.Y but they're very simple. Involve your children and friends to make it much more fun.
Breakfast In Bed: Wake up early, clean the house and whip up a quick and easy breakfast to give her in bed. This classic trick will never be dull, and with some flowers you'll be a winner.
Picnic - It's just as easy as having breakfast in bed. Durban has beautiful parks and beaches as picnic spots so that's sorted for you. If you have an amazing back garden, that's even better. Get a bottle of wine, some fruits, chocolates and a few sandwiches. Pack them in a basket, grab some cutlery and a blankie and you're good to go.

Home Drinks Tasting - this idea is fast becoming a popular trend and it's very easy to pull off. Set on a theme/drink of the evening (wine, tea, coffee etc) and invite your friends to bring a drink of their choice and some trivia on that particular drink and you're set for an evevining of fun, education and flowing drinks.

DIY Home Spa - Collect all her beauty products - exfoliators, masks, lotions etc and place them in a basket. Set the mood by grabbing a few towels, flowers, nail polishes, and sweet smelling candles to finish off the theme. Treat her to home made masks and exfoliators made from items you can find in your kitchen! She will love your forever!

Chich Flick Movie Marathon: Yes, women love movies, especially women empowering movies so go to the DVD store and get a few. From The Note Book, to Notting Hill, Sex in the City series and you're set to go. Take it up a notch by having different flavored popcorn and snacks and special lighting.
