The Louwrens family, Tony (father), Karen (mother), Blake (son) and Farren (daughter), were leaving a family braai in Wiltshire Road last weekend late in the afternoon when an unknown man fired shots at them, injuring the mother and daughter.
Before the shooting, Blake Louwrens went out on a drive with his cousin and friends to show off his high-performance car. Farren tells East Coast Breakfast that the estate security came to their unit and said there were men carrying guns and gold sticks looking for them.
Little did they know what was waiting for them 500m after the leaving the estate.
They said they were sick of these cars that make such noise and the guy wanted to know who the driver of the ST was. We did not react and we left it- Farren Louwrens
Farren survived a gunshot wound. She was rushed to hospital when her mother realised a bullet had scraped past her leg, causing instant burns and bruising.
